The Viking Age history of Bremsnes is filled with thrilling tales. This location served as the backdrop for numerous significant events and was home to several influential historical figures. According to legend, Harald Fairhair received his famous haircut here after unifying Norway at the Battle of Hafrsfjord. During this time, Ragnvald Mørejarl resided at Bremsnes farm. He later became the ruler of Normandy and established lineages that connect to the English royal family and much of European nobility.
